With work coming to a close, I seized the opportunity during my week off. While everyone else was rushing to work on Monday morning, I boarded the train in Banqiao around 7 a.m. and arrived in the idyllic Hualien around 9 a.m. I rented a scooter near Hualien Station and rode to Qixingtan Beach to see the sea.
