The iconic bridge in Marošévíz collapsed

A bridge over 150 years old has collapsed in Transylvania. The covered bridge in Maroszévíz had been in a dilapidated state for some time, with several people stealing planks and sawing off supporting pillars. But according to local historian Károly Czirják, it is also the fault of the authorities that they did nothing for the bridge.

One of the oldest covered bridges in Transylvania, the 156-year-old Urmánczy Bridge in Maroshévíz, Harghita County, collapsed on Wednesday, local historian Károly Czirják, president of the local Dr. Nándor Urmánczy Association, announced.
