A 56-year-old Austrian citizen died after jumping into the Soča River in Bovec on Sunday. The man was initially believed to be swimming, but soon after, passersby noticed him slumped over with his face in the water. Despite the quick intervention of other swimmers and later rescuers, the 56-year-old died.
They noticed him with his face in the water, so bystanders pulled him to shore and began CPR. Despite the intervention of rescuers, they were unable to help him.
On Sunday around 11 a.m., swimmers in the Soča River in the municipality of Bovec noticed an unconscious man and pulled him out of the water. They tried to revive him, but they were unsuccessful, and the man died at the scene.
