An earthquake of 5.2 degrees on the Richter scale this Wednesday struck an area east-southeast of Petrobavlovsk-Kamchatsky in the far east of Russia. At 0045 a.m. Moscow time, the earthquake fell 10 kilometres below ground, 152 kilometres east-south-east of the city, which is one of the main population centres in the Kamchatka region.
