In Begijnendijk, a 41-year-old motorcyclist from Scherpenheuvel-Zichem was killed in a traffic accident. The man was riding on the Plankenbrug around 3:20 with another motorcyclist. The two attempted an overtaking maneuver, during which the man collided head-on with another car. Emergency services arrived at the scene, but the motorcyclist did not survive the impact. The other motorcyclist and the driver of the car tested negative for alcohol.
