- On Thursday, Chief Minister C. Jospeh Vijay and Minister for Industries, Investment Promotion and Commerce S. Keerthana opened the "Vettri Tamil Nadu Investment Conclave 2026" in Chennai, signing 97 MoUs worth over ₹67,542 crore.
- State Industries Secretary S. Vijayakumar and Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Guidance Deepak Jacob helped clinch these deals, which Keerthana noted pushed cumulative commitments past ₹1 lakh crore in the government's first 100 days.
- Daimler India Commercial Vehicles will invest ₹4,000 crore to expand its Oragadam facility, while Agnikul Cosmos and Skyroot Aerospace committed ₹650 crore combined for space sector assembly and testing operations.
- The Ramanathapuram region secured its first major industrial project with ₹1,000 crore from Phoenix Kothari Group, while Singapore's Ascendas Firstspace plans a ₹1,000 crore industrial park in Tiruvallur.
- These agreements align with the Chief Minister's target to reach a $1.5 trillion economy by 2036, aiming to provide economic independence and better job opportunities for residents across the state.
