Iran Delivers War-End, Shipping Security Response to US Via Pakistan
Iran has sent its response to a US proposal aimed at ending the more than two-month war through mediator Pakistan, according to Iran's IRNA news agency and CNBC.
The initial focus of the proposed plan is to end the war and maintain shipping security by allowing traffic through the Strait of Hormuz while negotiating a fuller deal including disputes like Iran's nuclear program later.
The peace efforts seek a temporary memorandum of understanding to halt the war before addressing broader disputes.
Iran's President Masoud Pezeshkian stated that dialogue does not imply surrender, and the Revolutionary Guards have warned of targeting US sites if Iranian tankers are attacked.
