The ambush by a lone ISIS gunman killed two U.S. soldiers and one civilian interpreter during counterterrorism operations; three others were wounded, U.S. Central Command said.
- On Saturday, U.S. Central Command said two U.S. service members and one American civilian interpreter were killed in an ambush near Palmyra by a lone Islamic State member.
