Son of Israeli ambassador to US critically injured in West Bank ramming attack
Israeli officials said the attacker drove toward a police patrol, and medics evacuated the wounded reservist unconscious to a Jerusalem hospital.
- On Wednesday, reservist Neriya Leiter, son of Israel's United States Ambassador Yechiel Leiter, was seriously wounded when a vehicle rammed a police patrol near the Maccabim checkpoint on Route 443.
- Leiter, a member of a police patrol crew, is the brother of Moshe Yedidya Leiter, an Israeli Air Force officer killed in the Gaza Strip in November 2023.
- Emergency teams treated the officer at the scene before transporting him to Shaare Zedek Medical Center in Jerusalem, where he remains in serious condition with a head injury.
- This incident follows a shooting three days ago at Ein Raya, where Netanel Shukrun of Alei Zahav was killed while protecting his 16-year-old son from a terrorist.
