The 62nd annual Great Sandcastle Contest returned to Carmel Beach on Sunday. The annual contest is hosted by the city of Carmel-by-the-Sea and the Monterey Bay Chapter of the American Institute of Architects and had the theme “Carmel’s Nature.” Over a dozen teams were already working on their sandcastles in the morning.
