53,000-page final chargesheet filed against Majithia, 12 others in ₹719-crore DA case
On Wednesday, the Punjab Vigilance Bureau submitted a 40,000-page supplementary chargesheet against Shiromani Akali Dal leader Bikram Singh Majithia before a Mohali court, alleging Rs 161 crore in unaccounted cash deposits and Rs 236 crore in unexplained company funds.
The Bureau registered the initial First Information Report on June 25, 2025, leading to Majithia's arrest that same day; aide Harpreet Singh Gulati was arrested November 30, 2025, after investigators uncovered money transfers between entities linked to both men.
Investigators examined transactions involving Akash Spirit, UV Enterprises, and AD Enterprises, linking them to liquor businesses and foreign entities. The Aam Aadmi Party stated that financial trails and company relationships remain central to the case.
Majithia rejected the allegations as a "bundle of lies" in a post on X, writing "Truth will prevail," while criticizing the AAP for mischaracterizing the disproportionate assets chargesheet as a "drugs case."
The Supreme Court granted Majithia bail on February 2, 2026, though no chargesheet has been filed in a separate drug case over the past five years, leaving that investigation in limbo.
