Three men, accused of robbery and desecration, and another man, accused of concealment, were tried this Monday, October 27 at the Dax Correctional Court in the Landes. They were all found guilty of the charges against them.
In Dax, church robbers go to court for the first time. They are said to have stolen some 40 places of worship in four months. They came from the south-west of France, known for the courts, but not for theft. Their DNA was identified on a glove forgotten in one of these churches. RECIT. The perpetrators of the theft of liturgical objects and their accomplices were tried this Monday in the Dax Correctional Court, Landes. The long hearing revealed that young offenders, attracted by easy money, had no awareness of the sanctity of stolen objects.
