Marines on Okinawa began training in July with the NMESIS anti-ship system in preparation for its future deployment to the island, according to the service.

It has been revealed that the US military's latest surface-to-ship missile system, "NMESIS," was deployed in Okinawa in July. This is believed to be the first time that Nemesis has been deployed in Japan. According to US Marine Corps sources, the plan is to deploy the system to the 12th Marine Littoral Regiment (MLR), based at Camp Hansen, within fiscal year 2025.
