More than 3.6 Million Ladders Recalled After Reports of Injuries From Sudden Retractions
The recall covers 3,662,000 ladders after 25 reports of retracting and 19 injuries, including head trauma and fractures, the company said.
On November 5, Little Giant recalled more than 3.6 million ladders with Rapid Locks due to a fall hazard caused by locks failing to fully engage during use.
The Consumer Product Safety Commission coordinated the voluntary recall after receiving reports that the ladders can suddenly retract if Rapid Locks are not fully engaged, posing significant fall risks.
Little Giant has received 25 reports of ladders retracting, resulting in 19 injuries including traumatic brain injury, skull fracture, and broken bones, plus 39 reports of malfunctioning locks.
Owners must immediately stop using the affected ladders and contact Little Giant for a repair kit, evaluation, or refund for units purchased within the past year.
The recalled ladders were sold at Lowe's, Costco, and online retailers between December 2015 and October 2026 for prices ranging from $100 to $1,000.
