31 terrorists killed in Lakki Marwat and Bannu IBOs: ISPR

Pakistani forces targeted militants in Lakki Marwat and Bannu, recovering weapons and continuing operations to counter threats linked to foreign-backed terrorism, ISPR reported.

  • On September 13 and 14, Pakistan’s security forces conducted two intelligence-led operations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, resulting in the elimination of 31 terrorists.
  • These operations targeted militants linked to the Indian proxy 'Fitna al Khwarij' amid ongoing concerns about cross-border terrorism involving Afghan soil.
  • The Lakki Marwat operation resulted in 14 militants killed after an intense firefight, while the Bannu operation neutralized 17 terrorists during another exchange of fire.
  • The ISPR reported that during the operation, Pakistani forces confronted a Khwarij stronghold and, following heavy gunfire, eliminated fourteen militants linked to Indian-backed groups.
  • These operations demonstrate Pakistan's ongoing commitment to removing terrorist threats and maintaining security in the region through sustained counter-extremism efforts.
