Three Dead After Supply Boat Sinks Off Pasir Panjang Terminal Following Collision
Three people were declared dead and divers are still searching for any remaining crew after the collision sank the supply boat, authorities said.
On Friday, a supply boat sank after colliding with a landing craft near Pasir Panjang Terminal at around 0930, prompting immediate search and rescue operations by the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore .
The MPA, Police Coast Guard, and Singapore Civil Defence Force deployed teams for diving operations to determine if other crew members from the sunken vessel remain missing.
Police recovered three bodies, aged 38 to 53, from waters off Pasir Panjang Wharf, while the landing craft remains stable with no reported injuries among its crew.
Port operations continue uninterrupted as the MPA issued navigational broadcasts advising vessels to avoid the collision area, while authorities launched a full investigation into the incident.
This incident follows a Tanzania-registered vessel sinking off Batam in Indonesian waters last week and a separate March pleasure craft sinking near the Southern Islands that left one person missing.
