People with Alzheimer’s disease who do daily between 3,000 and 5,000 steps can significantly slow their cognitive decline, showing a new study. The moderate growth of physical activity level could slow mental deterioration for up to three years, and a greater effort, between 5,000 and 7.500 steps per day, may extend this protection to about seven years.
