24 now jobless as Radio Kitara closes after 21 years in operation

At least 24 employees of the Masindi municipality-based Radio Kitara 96.9 FM are now jobless following a decision by the management to shut down the station. All staff were ordered to vacate the premises on Tuesday last week as the regional station wound up operations. In his communication to the staff on Tuesday, the managing director of RadioKitara Maj Gen Muhammed Ali Kiiza cited the biting economic crisis for his decision.
