- On Sunday, the Nigeria Democratic Congress accused the Independent National Electoral Commission of "systematically removing" its nominated candidates and replacing them with "strange names" for the 2027 general elections.
- The NDC alleged that INEC uploaded 10 names unknown to the party for the Anambra State House, home state of presidential candidate Peter Obi, without authorization. National Chairman Moses Zuwoghe described this as a deliberate plot to sabotage the party.
- Zuwoghe stated that although the party produced a final signed list, INEC officials kept nine names on "pending" status, claiming their system already had different names from field monitors.
- On Monday, INEC spokesperson Mohammed Haruna denied the allegations, explaining the commission only uploaded lists signed at primaries by both party representatives and commission officials who monitored the process.
- Zuwoghe urged INEC to urgently investigate the matter and extend the inquiry to other constituencies nationwide where the NDC observed a pattern of replacing its authentic candidates.
