- With orders now open, BYD priced the Sealion 8 at $56,990 before on-road costs, with NSW drive-away pricing of $60,773, and plans deliveries before March.
- The maker added the model to a three-variant local lineup, positioning the Sealion 8 among Australia's more affordable PHEV SUVs and featuring DiSus-C intelligent damping suspension on AWD versions.
- All Sealion 8s feature double-wishbone front and multi-link rear suspension, a V2L function, large touchscreens, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, multiple USB outlets, multi-zone climate control, white as standard paint with $1500 colour options, and black interiors.
- Buyers should note service pricing is unsettled and ANCAP testing is pending, though standard safety features include autonomous emergency braking and an emergency-call over-the-air update in March 2026.
