BROOKLYN, NEW YORK, JUL 11 – Police continue to investigate after a black BMW struck and killed two men crossing a Brooklyn intersection, with no arrests made and CCTV footage under review, police said.
- A black BMW struck and killed two men aged 59 and 80 in a hit-and-run crash around 4:22 a.m. on July 11, 2025, in Sunset Park, Brooklyn, at 3rd Avenue and 52nd Street.
- The incident occurred as the men, who were unrelated and carrying empty shopping carts, crossed the southbound side against the light, while the BMW sped through the intersection and fled the scene.
- Footage from surveillance cameras showed the car speeding away shortly after the collision, while witnesses stated the BMW was driving approximately 70 mph and failed to reduce speed despite witnessing the victims.
- Emergency responders pronounced both victims dead on arrival, and local officials including State Senator Kevin Chan have urged the driver to surrender while police review CCTV and continue searching for the suspect.
