2 Des Plaines, Illinois daycare employees charged with battering 4- and 5-year-old children
Seven boys, ages 4 and 5, were allegedly battered by two daycare workers based on video evidence, with no serious injuries reported, police said.
- On Tuesday, two employees from A Mother's Touch Daycare in Des Plaines were charged following a police investigation into incidents between Nov. 3 and Nov. 19, 2025.
- A parent who reported the Nov. 20 incident prompted A Mother's Touch Daycare to review surveillance footage, contact the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services, and suspend staff.
- Surveillance video allegedly showed multiple instances of battery by Jessica Murillo and Izabella Thompson against seven boys, ages four and five, including striking and dragging incidents.
- Murillo faces felony and misdemeanor counts and is due in court today at the Second District Municipal Courthouse in Skokie, with Thompson scheduled for March 30.
- The daycare says it cooperated, removed the employees and notified authorities; Des Plaines Police Chief David Anderson said 'Our hearts go out to the children and families affected by this troubling case' and police said no children required medical attention.
