Osun Election: 1.91 Million PVCs Collected – INEC
INEC said 81.50% of Osun’s 2.34 million registered voters had collected their cards and published polling-unit data online.
- On Thursday, the Independent National Electoral Commission announced 1,906,390 Permanent Voter Cards collected in Osun State, representing 81.50 percent of the 2,339,233 registered voters ahead of Saturday's governorship election.
- Mohammed Haruna, INEC National Commissioner and Chairman of Information and Voter Education, disclosed that 426,842 uncollected PVCs, representing 18.50 percent, have been safely deposited with the Central Bank of Nigeria.
- Additionally, 6,101 voters obtained printed downloadable copies of replacement cards for damaged, defaced, or lost originals, while INEC published collection data by polling unit on its website for public access.
- Haruna reassured political parties, civil society organizations, the media, and residents of INEC's readiness to conduct a credible and transparent election on Saturday, August 15.
- With the election scheduled for Saturday, CJID observers and fact-checkers have deployed across Osun State to monitor the voting process and ensure electoral integrity.
