A recruiter who lured Koreans into an investment fraud ring in Cambodia's largest crime zone, the Mango Complex, was sentenced to seven years in prison. Judge Ko So-young of the 9th Criminal Division of the Seoul Southern District Court sentenced him on the 25th for membership in a criminal organization, activities, and fraud.
Thanks to the recent reforms to the Organized Crime Act, the Office of the Attorney General of the Republic managed to ensure that 163 members of the structure known as the Mara Salvatrucha (MS-13) received sentences of up to 75 years in prison. Those involved operated in different sectors of La Libertad and were captured during operations carried out under the Emergency Regime.
