Taipei, July 29 (CNA) A total of 402 Taiwanese have been reported missing, questioned or detained in China since the beginning of 2024, with fraud accounting for 62 percent of the detention cases, the Mainland Affairs Council (MAC) said Wednesday.
According to the latest data from the Mainland Affairs Council, from January 1, 2024 to July 22 this year, a total of 402 people have been reported as missing, detained, or imprisoned after traveling to the mainland. Among them, 154 people have gone missing after traveling to the mainland, and among the imprisoned cases, 23 are related to religious matters and 1 is related to national security.
