12 p.m. Public Ministry Open to Dermatologist at Santa Maria Hospital Who Will Receive 50 000 Euros a Day

The Prosecutor-General of the Republic confirmed to Lusa the existence of the investigation in the DIAP of Lisbon. Ana Paula Martins says that the case does not support the confidence of the Portuguese in the SNS.

The Inspection-General for Health Activities (IGAS) also opened this afternoon an investigation into additional surgical activity carried out in the SNS, as well as an audit of facts related to surgical activity carried out in additional production and classification of patients in homogenous diagnostic groups (GDH)

The Minister of Health also considered that this case “in no way falls within the confidence of the Portuguese”.

This is the doctor who has benefited for years from the so-called Inscription Management System for Surgery – created to reduce long waiting lists in the SNS. The hospital in Santa Maria paid him 400 billion euros for ten working days.
