1 dead, 3 injured in shooting at post-prom gathering in Indianapolis
Police said one victim died and three others were injured at a post-prom house party, while a separate west-side shooting also left one dead.
- On Sunday, May 3, 2026, a shooting at a post-prom party in the 4000 block of North Park Avenue near North College Avenue left one person dead; Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers responded at approximately 12:45 a.m.
- Just before midnight Sunday, officers responded to a separate "shots fired" report at a mobile home park near Rockville Road and South Lynhurst Drive; investigators are examining both overnight incidents on the city's north and west sides.
- IMPD reported that one victim died while two others arrived at Methodist Hospital with gunshot wounds; a fourth person sustained injuries attempting to flee the rental home.
