He was 77 and was a former resident of West Tisbury, where he had lived from 2013 to 2023. He had many Island friends. He is survived by his son Evan Merck, daughter in law Emily Hanson and grandson Arden Hanson of Maynard; and two brothers, John Merck and Michael Merck.
