Gananoque · GananoqueGananoque Police Chief Scott Gee was the first to jump off the Water Street boat dock and into the chilly waters below on Monday afternoon. The Polar Plunge is done to support Special Olympics, and the hope is that the money we raise today will go towards over 2,600 athletes all across the province. In total, there were 14 jumpers. As of deadline, just over $1,200 was raised.

Police Chief Scott Gee said the reason behind making the news public was to be open and transparent with the community. On Jan. 10, town police warned the community through their Facebook page that they, along with the Ontario Provincial Police Biker Enforcement Unit, anticipated the presence of the Outlaw Motorcycle Club.
