Open Hall school board seat headed to a runoff

The top two vote-getters in a three-way battle for the Republican Party nomination for the District 4 seat on the Whitfield County Board of Education will head to a June 21 runoff. Joe Barnett, a retired teacher, assistant principal and principal, received 3,537 votes. District 2 Public Health announced Tuesday that the COVID-19 testing site at Sherwood Plaza in Hall County will close on May 31.
