Brockville · BrockvilleMike Larocque, who was Brockville's longtime city treasurer until his retirement in 2005, died June 3 at age 81. He joined the City of Brockville staff in 1974, working as deputy-treasurer under then treasurer Ken King, recalled his son, Corey. He was appointed treasurer in July 1977 upon King's retirement. He would serve a 31-year career at the city, retiring in 2005.See the Story

Brockville · BrockvilleBrockville fire officials say a discarded cigarette is to blame for a fire that destroyed a Daniel Street home in the early hours of Tuesday morning. One man escaped unharmed from the blaze, at 38 Daniel Street, which started after 2:30 a.m., said Brockville Interim Fire Chief Chris Paul.
