Zelenskyy meets Palantir CEO as Ukraine expands use of AI in war
The talks focused on AI and data analytics for air defense, with Ukraine saying more than 100 companies are training over 80 detection models.
On Tuesday, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy met Palantir Technologies CEO Alex Karp to discuss expanding cooperation on artificial intelligence and data analytics for combat operations and civilian infrastructure.
Russia deployed approximately 27,000 Shahed-type attack drones against Ukraine during the winter period, creating urgent demand for advanced technological countermeasures and AI-driven defense systems.
Ukrainian Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov presented his defense strategy to Palantir, showcasing operational AI-based systems for battlefield analysis and Ukraine's 'Army of Drones' already in use.
Both sides agreed their teams would remain in contact to advance dialogue, targeting joint development of digital defense tools to strengthen Ukraine, the United States, and international partners.
Fedorov outlined objectives including intercepting at least 95% of incoming threats and achieving full aerial target identification through AI-based systems to gain air superiority over Russian territory.
The head of the Palantir company, Alex Karp, who developed data analysis systems, arrived in Ukraine and met with the President of the country, Vladimir Zelensky, and the head of the Ministry of Defence, Mikhail Fedorov.
