ZEISS Acquires Ceres Holographics to Drive Holography Industrialisation
The deal adds Ceres’ hologram manufacturing technology to ZEISS Microoptics and aims to speed commercial rollout in automotive and other markets.
On Oct 8, 2026, ZEISS announced the acquisition of Ceres Holographics, a holographic technology company headquartered in Livingston, Scotland, joining the ZEISS Microoptics division.
Ceres Holographics has specialized in holographic windshield display applications, and the acquisition accelerates commercial rollout of this technology for the automotive sector.
The acquisition complements ZEISS' proven ProSight platform; combining Ceres expertise with ZEISS global manufacturing capabilities offers a broader range of holographic solutions.
Andy Travers, who leads Ceres Holographics, said the deal marks "an exciting new chapter for the industrialization of holography." Roman Kleindienst, Head of ZEISS Microoptics, added they will drive faster market entry.
The expanded team intends to enter retail, aerospace, and public transportation markets beyond automotive applications. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
