In Saint-Raphaël, the rear line of the Dramont includes several memorials dedicated to the disembarkation of August 15, 1944. Among them, a sustained tribute to the commander of these operations. Little known to the general public, however, this admiral of the US Navy was one of the main artisans of the Dragoon operation which allowed the liberation of southern France.
