2 Doctors Served Show-Cause Notices over Alleged Liquor Party at Pune's YCM Hospital
The hospital administration is reviewing footage that shows bottles, snacks and plates on a post-mortem table, officials said.
On Friday, the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation launched an investigation after a viral video allegedly showed a liquor party inside YCM Hospital's post-mortem department in Pune, with liquor bottles and food plates visible on a post-mortem table.
A person waiting overnight to collect a death certificate recorded the video while attempting to wake up medical personnel who appeared to be in a state of stupor inside the facility.
Hospital administration issued notices to two medical officers and formed a three-member committee to investigate the incident and recommend further action, according to IANS.
Acting dean Maruti Gaikwad, who took temporary charge recently, stated Friday, "The video has come to us…We are looking into it. We will investigate the matter and take appropriate action."
The incident comes shortly after another lapse at the 750-bed facility involving patient safety concerns during an inter-hospital transfer, highlighting recurring issues at YCM Hospital in Pune district.
