Move over, Claude and ChatGPT: This Android Brand’s Open-Source AI Model Builds 3D Games on Demand
Xiaomi says the open-weight models reach new benchmark highs while the company publishes weights, training details and a reinforcement-learning framework for researchers.
- On Tuesday, Xiaomi released two open-weight models, MiMo-V2 Pro and Flash, under an MIT license; Artificial Analysis ranks Pro first among 114 models on its Intelligence Index.
- Featuring 1.02 trillion parameters with 42 billion active per token, Pro is a sparse mixture-of-experts model. Xiaomi completed training in under six days at a cost of about $2.62m utilizing roughly 750,000 trajectories.
- Outperforming Moonshot's Kimi, Pro secures the open-weight lead. While Flash trails Pro by four points or fewer on most agent benchmarks, it beats Pro on CyberGym, 95.1 to 94.0.
- Flash costs roughly a third as much as Pro, which is priced at $0.435 per million input tokens and $0.87 per million output. Anthropic charges $20 for Claude Opus 5.5.
- Xiaomi published its full technical report, reinforcement learning framework, and more than 7,000 task environments on Hugging Face for reproducibility. This open release potentially shifts what smaller research teams can attempt.
