XiamenAir Launches New Intercontinental Route with Inaugural Xiamen-London Flight
The three-times-weekly Boeing 787 service is Fujian's first direct passenger link to London and removes stopovers for travelers.
On Sunday, XiamenAir's inaugural flight MF821 landed at Heathrow Airport, officially launching the first direct round-trip service between Xiamen and London.
Fujian, home to a large Chinese community in Britain, has strong travel demand among students, driving this route to strengthen bilateral ties between China and the UK.
The 12-hour flight carried 263 passengers on Boeing 787 Dreamliners, featuring an immersive service themed "Egret Island's Sea Breeze and British Charm" combining coastal and cultural elements.
Operating on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays, the service gives business travelers early London arrival with ample time for onward connections to other European cities.
This expansion injects fresh momentum into Fujian's global engagement while offering travelers convenient access to XiamenAir's wider network, including 15-second smart customs clearance at Xiamen Airport.
