Xi touts Chinese wisdom and solutions as a model for developing nations
Xi said China achieved in decades what rich countries took centuries to build and urged developing nations to adopt Chinese solutions.
On Wednesday, China's leader Jinping held up his country's rapid industrialization as a new pathway for developing nations in a speech at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing.
Now in his 14th year in power, Jinping noted that China achieved in a few decades what took centuries for rich countries to do, marking the 105th anniversary of the Communist Party.
Jinping emphasized elevating the military to world-class standards while maintaining Communist Party leadership, following a corruption purge that removed several senior generals in recent years to ensure loyalty.
He repeated pledges to construct new international relations and bring Taiwan under China's control, asserting that China aims to change the global order to represent developing nations.
China recently asserted its influence by forcing President Donald Trump to scale back import tariffs last year, as Jinping argues the world has entered a new period of turbulence.
