[Beijing, Kyodo] Chinese Communist Party General Secretary Xi Jinping (President) said in a meeting with the chairman of Taiwan's opposition Kuomintang party that "we must oppose division by Taiwanese independence advocates and external interference," a warning to Japan, the United States, and Taiwan's Lai Ching-te administration. This was reported by the state-run news agency Xinhua.
