- Wyze Labs shipped cameras with incorrect assembly instructions that led users to inadvertently puncture the lithium-ion battery's metal casing while installing the solar panel, causing rapid overheating.
- Following 13 consumer reports of overheating, the agency confirmed six incidents of devices exploding or catching fire, with six additional reports of minor burns from the defects.
- Sold at Amazon, B2B Renew, Best Buy, Home Depot, and Micro Center for approximately $80 between October 2025 and April 2026, consumers are urged to stop using the devices immediately.
