WRPS stop over 10,000 vehicles during Festive R.I.D.E. campaign

- Waterloo Regional Police Service reported over 10,600 vehicles stopped at R.I.D.E. checks between Nov. 20, 2025 and Jan 1, 2026, while OPP West Region recorded 269 impaired driving charges in its busiest Festive RIDE in five years.
- Police said enforcement will continue year-round and urged motorists to plan ahead, arrange safe rides, and use 9-1-1 reporting for suspected impaired driving.
