Swedish driver Oliver Solberg (Toyota) made the fastest start to the rally safari in Kenya, the third stop of this year's World Rally Championship season. After the first two special stages in rainy conditions, he built up a lead of more than half a minute over his teammate, Briton Elfyn Evans.

The Kenya Rally started on Thursday, and Oliver Solberg took first place after the first stage. Robert Virves had a good day and continues in second place in the WRC2 standings, while Romet Jürgenson finished the first stage a day later.
