World-Record 400-Foot Cuban Sandwich Built in Florida
Community members built a 400-foot Cuban sandwich to surpass Tampa’s 365-foot record and raise money for House of Hope.
Community members in Martin County produced a 400-foot-long Cuban sandwich at Lance Cpl. Justin Wilson Memorial Park, surpassing the previous 365-foot record set in Tampa in 2024.
Organized by Old Havana Cafe and House of Hope, the event titled "Bite Into History: The Longest Cuban Sandwich Ever Made" aimed to foster community spirit, celebrate Hispanic heritage, and address local food insecurity.
The Doris M. Carter Family Foundation served as presenting sponsor, matching donations up to $15,000. House of Hope assists more than 30,000 residents monthly with food, clothing, and financial assistance.
This achievement enters a long-standing rivalry between Tampa and Miami over which city produces the best Cuban sandwich, with Tampa City Council designating it the city's official signature sandwich in 2012.
House of Hope operates service centers and thrift stores across Stuart, Hobe Sound, Indiantown, and Jensen Beach, while also managing the Growing Hope Farm to provide fresh produce and nutrition education to the community.
