The gradual reduction of foreign nationals by teams by 2030 announced by the CBF on Monday drew the attention of the world press, which highlighted the "revolution". While many countries bet on 'imported' labour, Brazil adopts the path of the "revolution".
The CBF approved a progressive reduction of foreign footballers who can be included in the Brazilian football rosters: eight in 2027, seven in 2028, six in 2029 and five since 2030. The measure will particularly impact Argentines, who represent the largest foreign community of Brazilian football. Some already qualify to nationalize and stop occupying a square.

The number of foreign players in the match squads of Brazilian teams at the first and second levels is being capped. The maximum will be set at eight foreign players per team starting in 2027. By 2030, this will be reduced to just five. The goal of this is to be able to train more Brazilian talent.
