BUDAPEST - Olympic champion Ethan Katzberg suffered a stunning upset Friday, failing to record a mark in the men’s hammer throw at the World Athletics Ultimate Championship.
Bence Halász finished second in the men's hammer throw final at the World Athletics Championships in Budapest with a result of 80.30 meters. The absolute champion was the world and European championship silver medalist Merlin Hummel of Germany with 81.46. The Olympic and world champion Ethan Katzberg of Canada, who was previously considered the best candidate, did not have a valid throw either.
