Nova Scotia Lifts Woods Ban for Some Areas
The government of Nova Scotia said it is lifting the woods ban in some parts of the province put in place to prevent wildfires. The province had placed restrictions on activities in forested areas as of Aug. 5. It said that hot and dry conditions had increased the risk of wildfires. EAST HANTS/BEAVER BANK: Restrictions on travel and activities in the woods have been lifted for those in the Halifax Regional Municipality and six other counties in Nova Scotia.
