Her Cruise Selfies Gave Away the Game and She Was Arrested at the Airport - Liverpool Echo
BEVERLEY, EAST RIDING OF YORKSHIRE, JUN 24 – Lucy Roberts stole £124,675 worth of jewellery over a year, flaunting stolen items on a cruise before being sentenced to 28 months in prison, police said.
- Lucy Roberts, who formerly managed the Daniella Draper store in Beverley, was given a 28-month prison term on June 24, 2025, after admitting to stealing jewellery and cash valued at more than £100,000.
- The crime took place between 2017 and 2018 as Roberts began taking jewellery home and was reported by staff who became suspicious after she sent selfies wearing stolen items on a cruise.
- Police found 269 pieces worth £107,965 in Roberts' bedroom and an additional 22 items valued at £13,880 in her suitcase when she was detained at Heathrow Airport returning from the cruise.
- Detective Sergeant Krista Wilkinson said Roberts was arrogantly posing on social media wearing stolen jewellery and attempted to dispose of valuables as police escorted her through the airport.
- The store expressed relief at the closure after several years and gratitude to Humberside Police, stating the sentencing may help Roberts reflect on the crime's impact on colleagues who trusted her.
