Man, Woman Wounded in Worcester Cigar Bar Shooting
Police said the two victims were conscious and alert after surgery, and there is no reason to believe the public is in danger.
A man and a woman were shot early Wednesday inside Victory Bar at 56 Shrewsbury Street in Worcester, Massachusetts. Responding officers arrived at 12:35 a.m. and provided medical assistance.
Hours before the shooting, Mark Piscillo posted on Facebook about a half-price cigar special and karaoke at 9 p.m. Tuesday. Opened in 2004, the bar has been a popular spot for cigar aficionados.
Officers treated the two victims with "chest seals" before transport to a local hospital. Both were "conscious and alert" during the process and underwent surgery, remaining in stable condition.
Police have not made any arrests as of Wednesday afternoon. Authorities stated there is "no reason to believe there is a danger to the public" at this time.
After the shooting, Police blocked off the bar and surrounding area. Messages left for owner Mark Piscillo regarding the incident were not immediately answered.
