According to the Netherlands Institute for Human Rights, Wellness Resort de Zwaluwhoeve discriminated against a young Muslim woman because of her burkini. The woman visited the resort in Hierde, Gelderland, in June 2025 during a special swimwear day. Although visitors were required to wear swimwear that day, her body-covering swimwear was not permitted. An employee asked her to leave the sauna after approximately four hours.
