PALM COAST, FLAGLER COUNTY, FLORIDA, JUL 21 – Clarisse and Norman Finnegan face felony child neglect charges after deputies found their infant alone in a running car while they were inside drinking at a bar, officials said.
- Late Friday night, Flagler County deputies arrested Clarisse Finnegan outside a Palm Coast bar after finding her infant alone in a running, unlocked vehicle.
- Amid drinking allegations, the couple gave conflicting statements, as Flagler County Sheriff's Office deputies responded to a tip after 10 p.m.
- A witness said she noticed the infant at 10 p.m. shows the vehicle conditions and witness account, with the witness observing the infant and a man checking the vehicle at 10:15 p.m., without attribution.
- Under state law, they face third-degree felony neglect charges, Clarisse was released on her own recognizance, and Norman on a $2,500 bond.
- Moving forward, state officials will review, as Sheriff Rick Staly warned, `This kind of recklessness could have ended in tragedy.
